Kileleshwa elected Member of County Assembly Robert Alai has put several bars and nightclubs on notice over noise pollution.

Taking to his twitter, Robert Alai said that after swearing in, they have a list of clubs that must be acted on.

“After swearing in, we have a list which must be acted on ASAP. It’s Kileleshwa. They must go,” Alai tweeted.

The blogger said that Numero 5, Samaki Samaki, The Bar Next Door, Hera Aqua Gardens and Kettle House are among the entertainment joints he wants closed. Because they disturb the peace of residents in the estate. “They are traumatizing children doing their homework,” he added.

As a result, Alai noted that he would recommend that all bars be relocated to Nairobi’s Central Business District from the estate.

Robert Alai went ahead to note that some of those clubs do not have the approval from relevant authorities.

This is not the first time Nairobi residents have raised complaints on noise and disruptions occasioned by the clubs situated near residential areas.

Robert Alai’s tweet got a lot of traction with netizens expressing different views. He however insisted that residential areas must be made suitable for bringing up families.
