Popular blogger Robert Alai was two weeks ago arrested and detained at Kilimani Police station.
That was after he engaged in an altercation and physically beat up gospel singer Ringtone Apoko.
Apoko was later seen reporting to the court in an ambulance to follow up on his case against Robert Alai. And he has been causing an online fuss from the incident. He is currently undergoing treatment in South Africa.
Videos doing rounds on social media as of today show Robert explaining that he is out on bond.
The blogger was charged with causing grievous harm to Ringtone and for damaging his windscreen valued at 426,000ksh.
Alai however denied the charges before the Kibera Senior Principal magistrate Philip Mutua.
As a result, he was released on Ksh 1 million bond or a cash bail of Ksh 300,000.
He was also warned against commenting on the case on social media either directly or indirectly. Since it’s an ongoing case.
The matter will be mentioned on August 23rd.
