KENYAN-BORN UK BANK BOSS FOUND DEAD: NEIGHBORS HEARD DISTURBANCE

Marianne Kilonzi, a 43-year-old Kenyan-born executive at Citibank, was found dead in her luxurious southeast London apartment on Friday, January 17, sparking a murder investigation.

Police discovered Kilonzi’s body in her flat on Argyll Road, Woolwich, SE18, around 5:25 p.m. after receiving welfare concerns from her colleagues and neighbors. A post-mortem examination revealed that she died from a fatal head injury caused by blunt force trauma.

Daily Mail reports that Marianne Kilonzi‘s neighbors reported hearing a loud disturbance from her apartment between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. on Monday, January 13. Despite the commotion, no immediate intervention occurred, and it wasn’t until later in the week that her absence prompted further concern.

One neighbor, Michael Buckingham, 82, stated that police had been actively searching for a suspect believed to have known Kilonzi. However, no arrests have been made as of now.

Who is Marianne Kilonzi?

Originally from Kenya, Kilonzi was a 2004 Computer Science graduate of Kenyatta University.

She had worked with Citibank for more than 18 years, most recently as Vice President of Trade and Working Capital Sales in London.

Her career also included a tenure as Vice President of Treasury and Trade Solutions at Citibank Kenya and nearly 16 years as an Assistant Vice President.

Beyond her professional success, Kilonzi was deeply committed to charitable causes, including fundraising for Cancer Research UK.
