Former comedian Eric Omondi has managed to remain the talk of the town despite his comedy career being on its deathbed.

Eric has resulted to reprimanding local artists any chance he gets. He has always asked them to pull up their socks and take Kenyan music to international scenes. He feels that our local artists are lazy and barely doing anything to grow the industry.

This is something that has caused a lot of friction between him and artists with some vehemently calling him out.

A lot of artists do not feel like Eric genuinely wants to help. Because all he does is criticize them and bash them while at the same time he trying to push an agenda- play 76% Kenyan music.

Eric called out

Some of the artists who publicly call Eric out is Bien of Sautisol and Khaligraoh Jones.

Recently, Khaligraph was not ashamed to call out Eric and remind him that his wave as a comedian was over. “Eric Omondi is the king of comedy but he has already been overthrown by people like Terrence Creative, Crazy Kennar alishaapitwa na hadi kina Cartoon Comedian,”

He went on to add that Eric at the moment was all talk and nothing to show for it.

“Eric Omondi is not someone who is in a position to say anything about this industry.

You see back when I was a bouncer when I was hustling in town and couldn’t even afford fare Eric was already a superstar,” Jones said.

Nadia Mukami

Songbird Nadia Mukami also called out the retired comedian. Sharing a clip from the recent Oktobafest that happened over the weekend, Mukami wondered why Eric had not commented on the same. Since it has been his nature to celebrate when events flop, Nadia concluded that his expectations might not have been met thus the silence.

They will not Write or publicize how yesterday Kenyans really showed up for an ALL kenyan line up! @ericomondi hii event hautapost unangoja kuskia events zimeflop ndio ututukane! Pole! she wrote.

In response, Eric argued that he was not impressed and it was not in his place to celebrate mediocrity.

This is good but not good enough. I’m not moved at all. I want you to go perform in Nigeria. wrote Eric.

Bien hits back

Eric’s long-time frenemy Bien of Sauti Sol also had a few words for him. He noted that Eric was finally irrelevant since the industry was doing well. Omondi retorted that his comedy career was doing well and it was his moral authority to chastise the music industry.
