On Monday, May 10th a Nairobi Chief Magistrate court canceled the sh 300,000 cash bail issued on former rugby player Alex Olaba.
Alex had last week been charged with conspiracy to murder. And for trying to interfere with witnesses. He pleaded not guilty and was thereby remanded for seven days. See article.
The magistrate said that witness interference by an accused is something that can not be taken lightly at all.
The court has also prohibited the media from publishing any images of the complainant.
As a result, Olaba will remain in custody until both cases are heard and determined.
He will be back in court on 3rd June.
