Singer Bien and his wife/manager Chiki Kuruka share a remarkable relationship, often embodying the classic marriage dynamic where one lights the fire and the other keeps it burning. Recently, Bien sparked controversy when a video of im discussing his celebrity crushes went viral.
In the video, Bien named Nigerian singer Tems and Jamaican dancehall artist Shenseea as his celebrity crushes.
He remarked, “I have many dream women… imagine if Tems DMs me, I would have to talk to my wife, even if it were you.
“And if Shenseea DMs me, she could hit and run.” Bien hilariously alluded to Shenseea’s song “Hit and Run” where she croons about a no strings attached relationship.
Bien explained that he and his wife have a mutual understanding to only have crushes who are distant and hard to reach.
“Imagine your dream man walking into the room, and you’re just there with Bien. I would have ruined it for you. And I want her to feel the same way for me.” He told Oga Obinna.
Chiki Kuruka Comments
The playful comment drew mixed reactions online, prompting Milele FM presenter Ankali Ray to reach out to Chiki for her thoughts.
Chiki neutralized the situation by taking the high road. She dismissed the rumors as “cheap gossip” and steering the conversation towards Bien’s recent successes.
“We do not entertain such gossip. Why not ask about Bien being courtside at the BAL game? Or his upcoming single with Fally Ipupa? Or the release of his album with a host of other artists on the 5th?” Chiki asserted.
No one called to congratulate him on his sold-out Heineken show or his entire Australian tour. If you want gossip, call someone else.” Chiki told Ankali Ray.
Chiki’s response reflects her strong support for her husband and her refusal to entertain baseless rumors. I dare say it also demonstrates a woman pretty much secure in their marriage. Don’t you agree?
