Well, looks like Jada was not the only one in an entanglement. Since Will Smith finally opened up on their open marriage.
Will Smith addressed the long-standing rumors that he and his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, have an open marriage. In his November GQ cover story, Will admits that their relationship began with monogamy but then evolved.
Jada never believed in conventional marriage … Jada had family members that had an unconventional relationship. So she grew up in a way that was very different than how I grew up,” Smith explained to the magazine.
There were significant endless discussions about, what is relational perfection? … And for the large part of our relationship, monogamy was what we chose, not thinking of monogamy as the only relational perfection.
The actor however, said he would not advice anyone to follow their path “I don’t suggest our road for anybody. I don’t suggest this road for anybody,” he noted. “But the experiences that the freedoms that we’ve given one another and the unconditional support, to me, is the highest definition of love.”
Smith, 53, also acknowledged that his wife’s “entanglement” with August Alsina made it seem like she was the only one to have an extramarital affair, but that was not, in fact the case.
He went on to say that they decided not to let marriage be a prison.
“We have given each other trust and freedom, with the belief that everybody has to find their own way. And marriage for us can’t be a prison.“
Will said that both he and his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith have had sexual relationships with other people during their marriage.
Last year, the couple’s marriage was publicly scrutinized after rapper August Alsina claimed that he had engaged in a relationship with Jada with Will’s permission.
Jada initially denied the claims, but when she and Will took part in an interview for her web show Red Table Talk, she said that an “entanglement” had occurred.
