Tony Sherman and Kendi, known as the Maandamano couple, have announced their breakup just weeks after their wedding. Their love story began during the Anti-Finance Bill Protests, where they connected. Just three weeks after meeting, Tony proposed, believing Kendi was the one.
Their wedding on August 25 was a colorful celebration at Archives in Nairobi CBD, officiated by comedian Mchungaji.
Surrounded by family and friends, including both their mothers, they exchanged vows in a lively atmosphere.
Tony spent KSh 50,000 on the ceremony, hoping to mark the beginning of their life together.
But the marriage was shortlived.
In a bittersweet social media post, Tony humorously announced their separation:
“No more maandamano couple. Some will say the marriage was as brief as prayers over food. I want to announce that am no longer married officially. A lot is happening. My heart is wide open for any girl out there so long as she does not smoke weed. DM!”
He accused Kendi of infidelity, which she strongly denied, stating, “We had our flaws, and we just ended it. I did not cheat on Tony.”
Kendi noted they had not even started living together and were still in the planning stages when they decided to part ways.
Meanwhile, Tony lamented the Ksh50,000 that he spent on the wedding.
