President Uhuru on Thursday 24th June flagged off the 2021 World Rally Championship at KICC.
If you are reading this, it means you are not at Naivasha with thousands of other Kenyans.
The World Rally Championship is scheduled to kick off today till 27th of June in Naivasha.
The rally has returned to Kenya after a 19-year break.
The Kenya safari rally is also the sixth round on the 2021 WRC. And it has attracted 58 entrants from across the globe.
While flagging off the event, Uhuru said that the Safari Rally holds a special place in Kenya’s history.
And it represents the ambitions of a country that is led by young people.
Kenyan drivers that will be participating include Jeremy Wahome (22), Hamza Anwar (22), McRae Kimathi (26), Deputy Director of Communications Laban Cliff, and statehouse chief Nzioka Waita. All the participants have expressed eagerness and confidence in the Rally.
Kenyans are really excited about this historic event. And quite a good number is already at Naivasha to witness it. All you need is a Subaru and a girlfriend.

Here is the program line-up of the 4-day event;
Thursday
VIP Speeches and flag-off by President Uhuru Kenyatta at KICC. After the flag-off from the KICC at 11 am, the cars headed to Kasarani Stadium for a side-by-side race on a purpose-built spectator grandstand from 2 pm. This is for Nairobians who could not make it to Vasha.
Friday
Sections 2 and 3-Service Park Naivasha (Chui Lodge 1 and 2, Kedong 1 and 2 and Oserian 1 and 2). This is part of the longest stage of the rally at 32.68km. After service, all three stages will be repeated, bringing the total to 129.78km.
Saturday
Sections 4 and 5 -Service Park Naivasha (Elementaita 1 and 2, Soysambu 1 and 2 and Sleeping Warrior 1 and 2). This will be followed by Soysambu and Sleeping Warrior areas. The rally drivers will repeat this round after servicing their cars.
Sunday
Section 6-Loldia 1 & Hell’s Gate 1 Section 7-Malewa, Loldia 2.
This one will cover the route around Lake Naivasha and Hells Gate, and repeated before finally finishing at the Fishers Tower.
