Three police officers were today arrested by their colleagues for allegedly helping serial killer Masten Wanjala escape from police custody.

Wanjala is a self-confessed child serial killer who escaped from police custody on Wednesday 13th October in unknown circumstances. See article.

So the killer was being held at Jogoo Road police station.

Three police officers who were guarding the station at the time were arrested on speculations that they may have helped Wanjala escape.

As a result, former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale says Inspector General Hilary Mutyambai needs to resign from office over the escape.

Boni claimed that there was no doubt the serial killer was helped escape by police officers.

As a person who has been serially arrested & locked up in police cells I know that you cannot run away from a police station, you have to be aided to come out. They do regular roll calls at night and even in the morning, Khalwale said.

Wanjala’s father on being questioned said that he has not heard from his killer son saying that he too heard from the news about the incidence.

Kenyans continue to live in fear as the young man roams freely in the streets.
