Singer Vivian’s former partner and manager, Sam West, clarified that they were never married. Despite dating for close to five years and living together, they did not proceed to the wedding.
In 2017, Sam West publicly proposed to Vivian on live TV. Though Vivian had earlier warned Sam West that she was not ready for marriage, she felt compelled to say yes to avoid a public embarrassment. They eventually broke up in October 2022.
“We were never married. We had done the process, and we expected to do the wedding, but that never happened. We were engaged, then along the way, there were things that happened that prevented us from going to the next step of marriage,”
Sam West explained.
Sam West attributed their break to irreconcilable differences. He went on to discuss infidelity, and incompatibility as other breakup causes for other couples.

Vivian revealed that Sam West ended their relationship because she had “stopped being his ideal woman.”
In a 2023 interview with Radio Jambo, Vivian admitted that the breakup with Sam West affected her financially as it ended her professional relationship with him as her manager.
At the time of breakup, Sam West implied the singer was stressing him to near death. He stated, “I don’t blame Murife; sometimes, a man has to run or flee like Joseph. Otherwise, he will die,”
When asked about the impact of the breakup, Sam West mentioned, “I repurposed after the breakup,” indicating that he took time off to learn about love, even seeking advice from a friend who has been married for 52 years.
As of now, Sam West is single but actively searching for a new relationship.
