Three boys are nursing serious leg burns after a pastor burnt their legs for allegedly stealing rock cakes worth Ksh. 80 in Kabarnet, Baringo County.
Pastor Rashid Nduma of Deliverance Church who doubles as a boda rider, is said to have caught one of the kids stealing his cakes at a bakery within Kaptimbor shopping center.
With the help of two other workers at the bakery, they began burning the boy’s feet using the bakery oven. This was meant to torture him so that he would reveal the names of his accomplices.
The torturing worked because the boy gave out names of his two friends whom he said had been sharing the cakes.
The preacher with his gang rushed to the homes of the exposed friends to wake them up and whisked them away to the bakery where they burned their legs.
The said pastor reportedly dumped the three boys in an open area where they slept in the cold. The locals who were woken by their piercing wails of the boys rushed them to hospital.
Police arrested two people, among them the pastor, and booked them at Kabarnet police station, where two more culprits managed to escape and are being pursued.
