Comedian Professor Hamo has opened up on losing over Ksh 14 million in brand deals after his affair with fellow comedian Jemutai became public.

Hamo saays his life fell apart once the scandal came to light.

At the time, he was in his late 30s and earning well, but poor financial choices and the controversy left him broke.

“Money was coming in, but I made bad decisions. After the scandal, no one cared if it was true or not—everything collapsed. I lost deals worth about KSh 14 million because companies no longer wanted to be associated with me,” he said.

Brands he worked with stopped responding to him, and even those who had promised future deals cut ties.

“I lost not just money but my name, my brand—everything.”

How Did Hamo Rebuild His Life?

Hamo credits his wife, Zipporah, and his faith in God for helping him recover. He admitted that the person most hurt by his actions was his wife, who had always been by his side.

“When my reputation was destroyed, I saw it as a chance to start over. But what hurt me most was knowing I had hurt my wife.”

Instead of fighting back on social media, Zipporah encouraged him to turn to faith.

“She told me we had nothing to prove online. She asked me to go back to God, and I did. She could see I was heading into a dark place.”

Her support was crucial in helping him find his way back.

“I can’t imagine my life without her. There were times I felt lost, but she reminded me to stay calm and trust the process.”

Did Hamo Cause Jemutai to Lose KSh 5 Million?

Jemutai later revealed that she turned down a KSh 5 million opportunity because she was pregnant for Hamo, and she was afraid that accepting the deal would expose her relationship with Hamo too soon.

She also shared that she went through the pregnancy alone and that Hamo first met their child when the baby was already eight months old. Despite Hamo’s financial success at the time, she faced emotional and financial struggles.

She also accused Professor Hamo of being a deadbeat at one point.

The experience took a toll on her mental health and was one of the most difficult times in her life.

Lessons from the Scandal

Hamo admitted that the affair contributed to his financial downfall but also helped him grow.

“It made me a better father and helped me heal from personal struggles.”

Since then, Hamo has been working to rebuild his career and reputation. He continues to perform comedy and is committed to his family, learning from his past mistakes.
