Days after welcoming their third-born daughter Shiru, celebrity couple Nameless and Wahu are already being pushed to have a son.

The veteran singer Nameless has been forced to address fans pressuring him to sire a boy.

Since time immemorial, society is known to revere a boychild as compared to a daughter. So it’s not a wonder that someone feels the need to pressure the couple.

Taking to his Instagram page, Nameless shared a screenshot of a comment from a fan demanding that he gets a baby boy for the sake of his legacy. “Tafuta kijana boss…your legacy…we Africans.” wrote the fan. This was after in one post, Nameless said he has realized that it is not about the gender of a child but about how the parent brings the child up by molding their character that matters.

“Meanwhile, I came to realize with my second baby Kio, it’s not about the sex of the baby, it’s about how you will bring him or her up and help mold their character. That’s what really matters! I continue to pray for wisdom to guide yet another beautiful soul to be the best she can be to herself and the world… I am a happy soul and ready for this newly added purpose!”

He however did not mince his words in responding to the fan and even educated her.

“I really want my legacy to be a father of three beautiful girls filled with wisdom, humility, and compassion who will live a responsible life that creates peace and joy for them and for others around them. That is the vision I am working towards,” he said.

Outdated traditions

Nameless went ahead to comment on the outdated traditions keeping some people hostage.

“Saa zingine tunjiangusha na traditions that are outdated.

I understand that we have been taught to follow our culture or tradition without question, but the truth is we are suppose to use our wisdom to identify the parts of our culture that are unfair or unprogressive and let them go, as we adopt more progressive, fair and better ways of thinking and living … Cultural evolution is where my leadership flourishes…”
