Musalia Mudavadi, the ANC party leader and Prime Cabinet Secretary Nominee, revealed his net worth as he faced the Committee on Appointments for vetting.
Speaking on Monday, Mudavadi disclosed that he is worth Sh4 billion. “If I take my investment in share in some companies and also properties that I own I would put my net worth at about Sh4 billion.“
He added that his current and anticipated income are from rental income, dividends from shareholding, interests and other expenses that come from the farm.

I did not grab Woodley property
Speaking on Monday as he faced the National Assembly Committee on Appointments said he still pays rent for the property his family occupies to date.
“It is in Woodley estate. It’s a property that belongs to the County Government of Nairobi. I stayed in Woodley and our family has always had that property. And I want to put it correctly here that to this day, we pay rent to the county Government of Nairobi,” Mudavadi said.
His response followed a question by National Assembly majority leader Opiyo Wandayi who raised the issue, seeking to know how he’d protect public property.
Mudavadi insisted that at no pint was the property transferred to him or his family, accusing the then Anti-Corruption body (KACC) of going on a tangent that they had not verified facts.
The former deputy Prime Minister said he ended up seeking legal redress for the for defamation.
“Mr Chairman, as we speak today, the same property belong to the County Government of Nairobi and we pay rent. I would not be paying rent for a property that is mine.” He said.
