Kenyan motor rally driver Maxine Wahome was on Wednesday charged with murder over the death of her boyfriend, a day after she was found fit to stand trial.
Rally driver Maxine Wahome however, denied that she murdered her boyfriend Asad Khan. Wahome denied the charge read to her virtually from Kilimani Police Station where she has been held since March 7, 2023.
The family of rally Driver Maxine Wahome said she is innocent.
Through lawyer Phillip Murgor, the Wahome family said their daughter is not guilty.
Addressing the media at Kilimani Police Station where she is being detained, Murgor said he does not know why she was charged with murder.
Murgor further says he has gone through all the evidence and facts and he does not know why the murder charge was preferred against his client
After denying the charge, the prosecution applied for the accused to be detained at Langata Women’s Prison.
Lawyer Danstan Omari for the victim’s family applied to be given time to respond to the bail application.
