Susan Kikwai the Deputy Governor of Kericho County has succumbed to COVID-19.
Susan had been undergoing treatment for two weeks at Siloam Hospital in Kericho county.
The deputy governor had been battling diabetes as well.
So a family member talking about Susan said that she had been discharged from hospital on Thursday.
But on Friday, her condition worsened and she had to be rushed back to hospital.
As a result, she succumbed on Saturday around 9:30 am.
Kikwai had been awarded The Order of the Grand Warrior of Kenya (OGW) by the former President of Kenya, Mwai Kibaki in 2007. Because of her incredible performance in investment promotion.
She had been serving their second term together with Governor Paul Kiprono Chepkwony.
Susan was also the former managing director of Kenya Investment Authority under the ministry of finance from 2005 to 2012.
