KENYAN WOMAN BRUTALLY KILLED IN THE UK, ALL THE DETAILS

In late 2023, Linner Sang, 39, left her teaching job at St Catherine in Kesses, Uasin Gishu County, to relocate to the United Kingdom. For her, it was a dream come true. And she went to pursue further studies and later secured work as a social care worker.

Little did she know her new life abroad would end in tragedy less than two years later.

Her partner, 29-year-old Edwin Kiplangat Yegon, who had been a teacher at Kipsitet in Kericho, later joined her in the UK on a dependent visa. He also found work in the care sector.

The couple lived in Reading, United Kingdom.

The Troubled Relationship

The couple’s relationship soon turned strained.

Tensions grew worse in early September 2025. On September 3, after a heated argument, Linner walked out of their shared apartment.

She stayed away for several days.

On Sunday, September 7, she returned with a friend to collect her belongings. That visit turned fatal. Another confrontation broke out, and neighbours reported hearing her screams.

Linner Sang Attacked and Killed

Inside the apartment, Edwin attacked Linner with a knife, stabbing her multiple times. Neighbours report hearing a disturbance, but by the time they got to her, it was too late.

Thames Valley Police confirmed Linner Sang was pronounced dead at the scene.

Edwin fled through a window. He was later found near a river, allegedly attempting to take his own life. He was arrested on the same day.

On September 9, police formally charged him with one count of murder and two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. Detective Chief Inspector Stuart May of the Major Crime Unit told the public they were not looking for any other suspects.

The killing shocked Kenyans both abroad and at home. Family members in Kericho are now appealing for emotional and financial support as they prepare to repatriate her body and give her a dignified burial.

A UK-based committee has been formed to coordinate the arrangements and share details with well-wishers who wish to contribute.
