Celebrated media personality Janet Mbugua has revealed that she began her career at Capital FM when she was only 19 years old.
Capital FM marks its 25th year on the airwaves and Janet could not hide her excitement as she looked forward to an interview at the radio station.
Fun fact I was a presenter on Capital at the age of 19! She wrote on her social media platforms.
Janet took to Instagram to explain how she got her first job as a presenter.
At the age of 19, I somehow told myself I can hold a radio show on my favorite radio station, no less! She wrote in part.
The riveting beauty and explained that she called Capital when she was still a student from her bedroom in Mombasa.
They patched her through Phil Matthews who told her that they would call her if they got any opening.
Finally, they patched me through to Phil Mathews and he bellowed down the line, “Janet if we get any opening, we will call you, ok?”
So a few months later they called her. And gave her a big break.
Janet went ahead to add that she is smiling right now because despite the many times she is hard on herself, today she remembered how 19 year old her dared to dream.
