Media personality Janet Mbugua has shared how her life changed after divorcing her husband, Eddie Ndichu. In a new interview, she talked about losing friends and feeling judged after the breakup.
Janet and Eddie had a big wedding in 2015. Their relationship was admired by many. But in 2019, people started noticing that things were not okay. The couple stopped appearing together, and in 2022, Janet officially filed for divorce. She never shared the exact reason.

In a chat with podcaster Adelle Onyango, Janet said divorce changed her life, especially her social life.
She explained that some friends slowly distanced themselves.
She was not invited to certain events anymore, especially those meant for couples.
“There are Christmas parties you are not invited to. No one says it, but you feel it. People stop seeing you the same way when you’re no longer someone’s plus one,” Janet shared.
She said there was a quiet kind of judgment. Even when walking into a room, people would look at her differently. She felt that divorced women are treated unfairly in society.
Janet also said she noticed this change more because she lives in an estate where everyone knows each other. Another friend of hers, who also divorced, said she experienced the same thing. That made Janet feel less alone.
Despite the divorce, Janet and Eddie still take care of their two sons together. They co-parent and even attend school events as a team.
