Former Citizen TV news anchor Janet Mbugua finally filed for divorce from her estranged husband Edward Ndichu.
Ndichu and Janet tied the knot in a colorful wedding in 2015 at Chaka Ranch Nyeri. This was after her traditional wedding in November 2014. The two had sired two boys together.
Break up rumors
However, rumors had it that Janet Mbugua had allegedly separated from her husband a long time ago. Netizens had already noticed that she had removed her wedding ring and dropped the ‘wife’ tag on her Instagram bio.
When Janet Mbugua launched Inua Dada Foundation, her entire family including her parents, siblings, and her children attended the event. But her husband Eddie Ndichu was conspicuously missing.
Eddie’s absence raised eyebrows given that there were already signs and rumors that all wasn’t well in their marriage. The two had also unfollowed each other on social media and deleted each other photos.
Infidelity and abuse
According to sources close to the former news anchor, Ndichu developed a long-term cheating habit in the early stages of their relationship. And was still rumored to be cheating on Janet with various women while she was pregnant with their second child.

On this year’s fathers day, however, Janet shared a collage of Ndichu carrying their sons standing in water, her dad, and a message that read; “Happy Father’s Day.”
Divorce
Recently an ardent BNN fan reached out to Edgar Obare with news that Janet had finally filed for divorce from her husband.
Speaking exclusively to Edgar, the fan disclosed that Janet was divorcing Eddie on grounds of infidelity, neglect, and abuse.
Janet was also demanding one million Kenya shillings monthly allowance for child support.
