Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has explained why the city of Machakos project launched in 2013 went crumbling down.

Speaking at the Daybreak segment at Citizen TV, on Thursday morning, Alfred said that the project had attracted investors.

And the investors were willing and ready to invest up to sh2.1 trillion to start a new city and hospitals. And also provide more than half a million job opportunities in Kenya.

The Governor mentioned that the Senator of Machakos Muthama moved to court. As a result, an injuction of six years was given leading to a collapse of the project that would have boosted Machakos and Country a step further.

In 2013, I had investors coming in with Ksh. 2.1 Trillion to start a new city, hospitals & provide over half a million jobs but Sen. Muthama went to court & we got an injunction for 6 years. By now, we should be making our own ARV’s

he said

Mutua went ahead to explain that due to the infection the investors could not wait. So they moved to other countries.
