Former Vioja Mahakamani actor Gibson Gathu who acted as a prosecutor in the show is pleading with Kenyans for financial support to get a kidney transplant.
The Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) TV star stated that he was diagnosed with kidney failure in 2020 after multiple checkups.
In an interview, Mbugua said that he set to undergo the transplant at Mediheal Hospital in July and was in a dire need of funds.
“Gibson has been managing Diabetes for 20+ years now; but some time in November 2020 his kidneys failed hence he has been going for dialysis twice a week. This has drained his family financially. Reads part of the medical appeal.
The appeal revealed that he had already found a donor. And the purpose of the fundraising is to help them raise funds for the surgery and medication.
The good news is that he has a donor and the purpose of this is to help him raise medical funds estimated to be between 5-6 million for a kidney transplant scheduled for July 2022 at the Mediheal Hospital, Eldoret. The said amount is inclusive of post-surgery treatment for the recipient,” reads the appeal.
The fundraising for Gibson is scheduled for 11th June 2022 at the City Hall, Nairobi from 2 p.m.
