Do you remember those kids we grew up watching on TV and wishing to be like them? The likes of Trevor Gitonga whose face we saw on nearly all adverts as well as movies.

Trevor was a household name over a decade ago. As a teenager, he was featured on various movies like Afrika Mon Amour (German award winning movie), Unseen, Unsung, Unforgotten (Kalasha Award) and Leo, where he was the lead character. Besides acting and doing brand endorsements, the boy was also a singer and had two songs at seventeen.

Trevor had also appeared on the Flava Milk Shake,  Umeme Pamoja, CIC Insurance, Eno, Geisha soap commercials. Safe to say his star was shining bright. And he was admired by a whole lot of us.

Trevor however, later relocated to the states where he has been living. He is barely active on social media and it was hard to trace him because he changed names as well.

Taking to his Facebook page, Trevor had recently shared with his fans that he is nonbinary as he celebrated Black History Month. He shared pictures of himself rocking wigs, having layers of makeup oozing feminine energy.

By the way…
I’m Nonbinary.
Happy Black history month

I need help-Trevor

A quick check his Facebook page and you can notice that he barely shares details of his life online. However, Trevor recently took to his FB page to disclose that he was suffering, financially and mentally.

They say the first step towards recovery is acceptance so here we go.
Hoping it’s not too late

Hi, my name is Tay.
I’m non-binary. I’m currently homeless. And I suffer from schizophrenic paranoid delusions. I’m all alone and I need help. 🙁

Schizophrenia for those who may be in the dark, is a disorder that affects a person’s ability to think, feel and behave clearly. And nonbinary means that one does not identify as either male or female.

Trevor went on to call upon his friends to give him a chance or he was not going to make it.

He went on to add that he was not ready to die, at least not yet.

How do you think Trevor can get help?
