EDDIE BUTITA WRITES AND DIRECTS THE FIRST SWAHILI SHOW ON NETFLIX

Comedian Eddie Butita is currently the talk of the town. This is after he revealed that he wrote and directed a Swahili Show on Netflix making history.

Butita joins a list of other Kenyans who have seen their films appear on Netflix such as 40 Sticks, Sincerely Daisy and Disconnect.

Taking to Instagram the comedian jotted down a long caption disclosing the good news.

Butita disclosed that he was approached to be the first Swahili Comedy writer and director.

And for the past few months, he wrote and directed the Swahili version of Upshaws created by Wanda Sykes.

The funnyman says that it was such a great experience. The early mornings and late nights together with a team of talented professionals from Hiventy Africa successfully brought the script to life. And it is currently streaming on Netflix.

Butita disclosed that he always wanted to be on Netflix this year and God has made it a reality. I have always wanted to be on Netflix, this year God made it a reality… He went ahead to affirm that if he wrote and directed for means, it means that African Comics have a great chance in the global market.

His fans have sent him congratulatory messages seeing that he made history and proved that anything is possible.
