DCI ARRESTS PRIME SUSPECT IN THE MURDER OF FOUR MEN IN KITENGELA

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) yesterday evening arrested the prime suspect in the murder of four men in Kitengela.

Taking to Twitter, DCI made it clear that the prime suspect, Benson Melonyie, 40, was arrested from his hideout in Kitengela town last evening where he has been hiding since he pioneered the killings.

The arrest of the 40-year-old comes days after DCI took over investigations into the murders. Seeing that the public has continuously demanded justice to be served.

The suspect, Benson Melonyie Ole Mungai was linked into the killings after forensic investigations placed him at the scene of the crime.

So it was established that Mungai led and coordinated the killing of the four men- Freddy, Victor, Mark, and Nicholas.

However, the detectives are still in pursuit of the other killers as Benson remains in custody to help with further investigations.

The four slain men were brutally murdered on the evening of Saturday 7th August after being mistaken for cattle rustlers. Or let’s just say they were profiled based on their appearance. Since they all had dreadlocks and tattoos. And how sad that this nation still stigmatizes people with dreadlocks and sees them as a potential danger?

Lucy Wanjiru, mother of two of the boys has cried out for justice after losing her only children. And hopefully, she is going to get it.
