Nigerian singer Davido is yet to make a public statement after the alleged death of his three-year-old son David Ifeanyi.
The three-year-old is said to have drowned in a swimming pool at Davido’s residence in Banana Island. Davido and his fiancee, Chioma were reportedly away from the house when the boy drowned.
In a bid to revive him, the three-year-old victim, after being pulled out of the swimming pool, was reportedly rushed to a hospital in the Lekki area of the state, where he was confirmed dead by one of the doctors on duty.
Lagos police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, announced that all members of Davido’s domestic staff are in police custody following the death of Ifeanyi.
Speaking on the sad incident, the Lagos PPRO said preliminary investigations are ongoing to unravel what led to the boy’s death.
He said: “Domestic staff at Davido’a home have been taken to the station to give their own account of what happened. I wouldn’t call that arrest yet.
“If after they all give their own account of what happened and after preliminary investigations, if anyone of them is found culpable, the person will now be placed under arrest”.
