Comedian Eric Omondi has become a guest of the state after being arrested outside Parliament buildings.
The arrest happened on Tuesday, 16th November, mid-morning. And he was taken to Central Police Station.
So Eric Omondi has been trying to fix the Kenyan music Industry. And part of the fixing included artists and musicians pulling up to Parliament to protest.
THE KENYAN ENTERTAINMENT SCENE IS DEAD!!! We have lost our Glory. We have become a Cemetry!!! It is utter DISGRACE that our musicians have become mere Curtain raisers for international acts. We have become clowns in our own land. Every weekend there is a group of 3 or 4 foreign artists in this City Nairobi. GENGETONE is DEAD and BURIED.

Eric had called out artists to show up so that they can lobby for media houses to play 75% local music. And for equal pay of local artists and promoters the same way international artists are paid. See post.
So Eric Omondi accompanied by other artists and musicians went to protest outside parliament.
But it didn’t go as was expected. Videos doing rounds on social media depict the funnyman being thrown into a police van like a bag of potatoes. He however is seen trying to resist arrest.
