One thing about Kenya, there will always be something to distract citizens from the usual political atmosphere.
There was drama in Kiangua location, in Meru County yesterday. This was after villagers in the little-known Mutiribu town that is about two kilometers from Mt. Kenya forest assumed that there was a lion hiding in a fence ready to pounce on them.
The residents filled with fear and terror reported the matter to the area Assistant Chief as well as the Chief. The two obviously afraid too called the nearest Kenya Wildlife Service station. So that they would go and handle the animal before it could cause harm to the humans and their livestock.
The villagers dreaded getting near it or even taking photos as they patiently waited for KWS.
KWS rangers showed up sooner than expected and were prepared to seize the lion. They also had been convinced that it was a lion until it wasn’t. It turned out the lion was a carrefour shopping bag bearing the tiger’s image.
