Eulogy for the late Albert Ojwang, who died while in police custody on June 8, 2025

Albert Omondi Ojwang was born on the 7th of July, 1994, in the quiet village of Kakoth, in Homa Bay,
He was the only child of Mzee Meshack Opiyo and Mama Eucabeth Adhiambo Ojwang.

Education
Albert began his education at St. Mary Goretti Mawego Primary School in 1997. He later moved to Malindi where he joined Ganda Primary, and later sat for his K.C.P.E. at Msangoni Primary.
He sat for his KCSE at Barani Secondary School in 2014. He performed so well and later joined Pwani University, where he graduated in 2023.
His Christian Life

Albert Ojwang was raised and baptized in the Baptist Convention Church.He was an active member of Rio Baptist Church until his demise.
In 2021, Albert met the love of his life, Nevnina Anyango,26, through a mutual friend.
They were blessed with one child, George Miles Omondi, alias Albert Jr.

Career
Albert Ojwang was a gifted teacher of Christian Religious Education and History & Government.
He began his career at Sabaki Mixed Secondary School, Tuma School, and Kituma Boys. He also served as a rugby games teacher.
Beyond his teaching, Albert was a talented blogger and writer.
He had a deep love for people, and was friendly and approachable. His home and indeed his life was always open to others, full of laughter, shared memes, and stories.
Albert was a passionate Manchester United fan, and a lover of music. Prince Indah being his favorite local artist.
Demise
Albert was well, healthy, and full of life until the day of his demise on June 8, 2025. He died under unclear circumstances while in police custody.
May the soul of Albert Ojwang rest in eternal peace.
