Actress Grace Wacuka has been served with defamation by Insignia Kenya Films Ltd after accusing a director of sexual harassment.

Wacuka claims that when filming Single Kiasi in 2022, the Director allegedy took her hand, placed it on his backside, and said, “Hold me like you love me.”
Wacuka rejected his advances, but he dismissed her concerns, saying, “But you wanted it.”
While Wacuka did not report the incident at the time, she confided in her family.
A year later, she was invited to audition for Kash Money. Before the audition, she asked the Director to apologize, but he refused. So she turned down the audition.

Grace Wacuka Served Defamation Notice
On January 16, 2025, Insignia Films sent Wacuka a cease-and-desist letter demanding she retract her statements and apologize.
In a letter seen by this writer, Insignia Films accused Wacuka of making false claims and damaging their reputation. The letter also accused her of online harassment and bullying.
Insignia demanded that Wacuka stop discussing the issue on any platform, and issue an apology by January 17, 2025.
Wacuka refused to comply, so she shared the letter on social media to explain her decision to speak out.
Her case has received support from some in the entertainment industry, bringing attention to sexual harassment in Kenya’s film industry and the need for stronger protections for those who speak out.
She also claims her lawyer is part of a conspiracy to silence her and told her to stay quiet about the incident.
