In the latter part of 2023, rumors circulated regarding gospel musician Daddy Owen introducing the first daughter of Kenya, Charlene Ruto, to his mother. The singer remained silent, neither confirming nor denying the speculations. However, Daddy Owen recently put an end to the suspense by confirming that Charlene Ruto visited his home town of Kakamega.
“2023 was a good year! I thank GOD! I had so many highlights, but the climax, the pinnacle and the crowning moment came at the tail end of the year when @charleneruto visited my home in Eshieywe a.k.a Kakamega.”

The atmosphere at the introduction ceremony in Ebhusang’ang’a village was filled with joy. Daddy Owen shared that his mother, known for her love of hosting, showed genuine delight at having guests. Additionally, the visiting guests also shared in the cheerful ambiance.
“Ebhusang’ang’a village was HAPPY, my mum was HAPPY, she loves guests.Aand the guests were HAPPY as well!”

Most importantly, the introduction ceremony was filled with joy as Abhashiere showcased their best dance moves to the beats of the authentic isikuti, made from the tough “imbulu” skin
“We celebrated with songs, dance and ululations! Abhashiere came with their best dancing shoes to whirl to the real isikuti made from the tough “imbulu” skin!”

Given the substantial role that food plays in any ceremonial occasion, the ceremony included a diverse array of Luhya traditional delicacies. Abhatsotso traditional delicacies, spanning from “amakwakwata” to “lhisebhebhe,” added a delectable touch to the event.
“We ate various Abhatsotso tradition delicacies from “amakwakwata” to “lhisebhebhe.”
