Celebrated media personality Willis Raburu has officially parted ways with Cape Media, the owner of TV and Radio 47.

Raburu’s departure from Cape Media comes after eight months of joining the media house. His exit follows his appointment as Director of Digital Services and Innovation earlier this year.

“As I bid farewell to the TV47 family, I am filled with a sense of pride and gratitude for the remarkable growth we’ve achieved together over the past few months,” Raburu expressed in his farewell message.

Raburu, who joined TV47 in 2023, had recently announced a break for his show ‘Wabebe Experience,’ which he co-hosted with Mc Gogo and Claudia Naisabwa.

“We would like to announce that Wabebe Experience will be taking a season break. We sincerely thank our viewers for their continued support and enthusiasm. Rest assured, we are working diligently behind the scenes to come back bigger and better than ever. Stay tuned for updates on our return! We love you and appreciate you so much,” Raburu shared.

During his time at TV47, Raburu hosted the ‘Wabebe XP (Experience)’ show every Friday at 10 pm alongside Mc Gogo, later joined by Claudia Naisabwa as the third host in February 2024.

Raburu’s journey in the media industry saw him leave Citizen TV in June 2023 after 13 years, having joined in 2010 as an intern. He rose through the ranks to become one of the most celebrated TV hosts in the country, transitioning from intern to news reporter and eventually hosting the ’10 Over 10′ show.

In October, Raburu resigned as chairman of the Nairobi Festival Committee, citing the need for systemic change to improve service delivery and leadership within the county.

“I have officially informed the leadership of the county that I will no longer be serving in my current capacity as chair of the Nairobi Festival Committee,” Raburu stated.
