The whereabouts of Betty Bayo’s husband on the night her health deteriorated have been revealed. Late that night, Betty was home alone when she began bleeding in her sleep. Despite feeling weak, she dragged herself downstairs, got into her car, and honked to alert her neighbors.

The neighbors quickly rushed her to AAR Hospital, but reportedly, the facility could not admit her immediately due to lack of funds. Shiro Wa GP paid KSh 260,000 for her admission, while 30 friends had earlier contributed KSh 1.3 million to help, respecting her wish to keep her illness private. AAR Hospital later reportedly denied refusing her admission over the payment issue.

At the time, Betty’s husband, Hiram ‘Tash’ Gitau, was in the USA working. He had returned to the States when his savings ran out while caring for his wife. Despite being away, his heart remained with her.

Betty had struggled with her health for some time. And reportedly complained of fatigue and needing naps while out with friends for quite some time.

During her first hospital admission, Tash never left her side. Doctors initially thought she was anaemic and only needed rest and blood to recover. He stayed with her until discharge. Sadly, her condition worsened over time.

When Tash learned about her deteriorating health, he immediately booked the next flight back to Kenya. Tragically, the same night he arrived, Betty was rushed to KNH for admission. She had suffered a stroke and began bleeding inside her head and had to be rushed to the ICU.

Sadly, her husband could not reach her in time and she died from Leukaemia. Friends recall how relieved her children and close friends felt just knowing he was home. Ski and Dan even cried tears of joy over the phone.

Tash had hoped to take Betty to the USA for further treatment once she recovered, but that day never came.

Shiru Stuart has praised Betty Bayo’s husband Tash for his devotion, saying he has always been quiet and humble, but deeply loving. She highlighted his role as a devoted husband and father, noting, “I know she is proud of you.”

Betty Bayo’s courage in her final days, combined with Tashi’s unwavering support, has left a lasting impression on friends, family, and fans alike.
