In a shocking incident in Rongai Town, Kajiado County, two boys aged 12 and 9 have been accused of killing a 4-year-old boy identified as Rashfil Anyika.

According to reports, the two boys allegedly tied the child’s hands and legs, placed him in a suitcase, and threw him into Olekasasi River, where he drowned.

The chilling act has left residents in disbelief and the community struggling to understand what led to such brutality.

Investigations suggest the older boys may have lured Rashfil from his home before committing the crime nearly a kilometre away. The motive behind the killing remains unclear, though the victim’s parents believe it may have started from an innocent insult exchanged among the children.

The suspects have been arrested and are being held at Ongata Rongai Police Station as investigations continue. Meanwhile, Rashfil’s body lies at the City Mortuary where the postmortem confirmed drowning as the cause of death.

The tragic case has raised concern about the rising cases of violence among minors and the need for stronger guidance and mental support for children.
