The new strand of drug-resistant Gonorrhea is still been reported among various parts of the world. Since it is being spread like bushfire. Doctors have warned of tough days ahead since condoms are not helpful. And seminal fluid, saliva, and sweat all carry the bacteria.

Massachusetts’ Department of Public Health (DPH) announced last week that two residents were recently diagnosed with a novel strain of gonorrhea that’s less responsive to the medications commonly used to treat the disease.

A case involving a similar strain was also recently detected in Nevada. Both cases in Massachusetts were successfully treated with ceftriaxone — the current go-to medication for gonorrhea. According to the DPH, this is the first time that a gonorrhea strain has appeared resistant to five classes of antibiotics in the United States.

Gonorrhea

Director of Medical Services Dr. Jackson Kioko recently said that more women than women are found to be infected with super gonorrhea. Because in every 20 women, only one man has it. Something that has raised concern over the rates of promiscuity among local women.

The Ministry of Health has planned to enforce medical certificates for foreigners entering Kenya.
