The trial of Jacque Maribe and her ex-lover Joseph Irungu alias Jowie for the murder of Monica Kimani will resume next month in an open court.
The case came up for a virtual hearing which took place on Wednesday where the two had requested to have the case heard in an open court.
Justice Grace Nzioka after listening to their request ordered that the case be heard from 5th May.
Jacque Maribe and her former lover Jowie have denied murdering Monica. Even though her body was found in a pool of blood in her bathroom with her throat slit.
Maribe told the court that her relationship with Jowie was purely romantic. And this she had nothing to do with the murder.
Jacque felt that she was in the trial because she was in a relationship with the person whom the prosecution appeared to be interested in.
The prosecution said that it plans on calling in thirty-two witnesses. So four of them are protected and five of them will be expert witnesses, as told by the lead prosecutor Catherine Mwaniki.
