The High Court today suspended the hearing of the Ksh. 102 million case.

In November last year, the Assets and Recovery Agency– ARA- went guns blazing after a twenty-one-year-old university student. This was after she received a suspicious enormous amount of money in her bank account.

The student identified as Felesta had received the money in three days after opening her Co-operative Bank account.

The ARA was seeking orders from the court to freeze her bank account. Njoroge, through her lawyers, however, argued that the aforementioned amount was set to be channeled towards her investment projects.

The monies were for investing in land projects and safaris, her lawyers had told ARA, two days after the agency moved to freeze her accounts. See article.

Identity thieves

In the Wednesday hearing of the case, Justice Maina Esther was left awe-stricken after two women showed up claiming to be Felesta Njoroge.

The two unidentified women had ordered their lawyers to challenge the cash freezing suit by ARA. Maina was left confused questioning the real identity of Felesta Njoroge.

The judge, therefore, suspended the hearing of the court for another ninety days. So as to give time to the two women to appear before the DCI to stipulate their real identities.

The case will be mentioned again on May 16.

Wonders will never cease!
