On the morning of 23rd October 2025, the KSh 20 million defamation lawsuit filed by ‘From the Strip Club to the Pulpit’ author Pastor Robert Burale against Alex and Rozina Mwakideu came up in court.
On the day, Rozinah wrote:
“Hey Mpendwa. Today may be a regular day for you. But it is the day my brother Alex and I will appear in court as defendants, being sued for KSh 20 million for defamation by Robert Burale.”
“In all this, one thing I know for sure: God will be greatly glorified. May peace continue to fill our hearts. Thank you for your prayers and support.”

The lawsuit is about a YouTube video that went viral. In it, Rozinah said her marriage to Burale was “the darkest part of my life” and her “biggest mistake.”
Burale claims her words made him look bad and are not true. He is also asking for an apology, and for the video to be taken down.
Mwakideu-Burale Case Update

In court, Burale’s lawyer, Clinton Mwale, asked for an interim injunction. The Mwakideu legal team, led by topshot lawyer Ochiel Dudley opposed this, saying the court did not have jurisdiction.
The court agreed and transferred the case from the Senior Principal Magistrate Hon. Onjoro’s court to the Chief Magistrate’s Court. The matter will be mentioned again on 28th October 2025.
