Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has denied claims that he took over a Ksh 25Million Nairobi apartment with a babe without paying for it.
Earlier in the week, Royal Importers and Exporters Limited accused Gachagua and Julia Muthoni Mwangi of occupying a KSh 25 million unit at Skyrock Apartments in Kileleshwa without completing the purchase.
The company, through its lawyers, demanded that they vacate the property and pay up.
Rigathi Gachagua Responds
In response, Gachagua, through Mabeya & Company Advocates, rejected the allegations.

In a letter dated October 2, signed by senior partner Mabeya Moses, the former DP said he was “a stranger to this kind of arrangement” and had “never engaged with or transacted with the company.”
His lawyers added that Gachagua had never even set foot in the apartment and only heard of the company when the claims surfaced. They accused Royal Importers and Exporters of trying to damage his reputation by spreading false and unverified claims in the media and through bloggers.
The letter said the accusations had hurt Gachagua’s image in his family, social, and political life.
The lawyers made three demands:
- The company must admit liability.
- The company must publish a retraction and apology in at least two national newspapers.
- Negotiations should begin on the damages payable.
Royal Importers and Exporters was given 24 hours to comply. If not, the lawyers warned they would file a defamation suit seeking heavy damages and legal costs.
