Detectives leading the investigation into the tragic death of Ohangla dancer Sheila Odoyo, also known as Sheila Wegesha, have issued a plea for her husband to come forward amidst mounting suspicion.
Sheila Wegesha was discovered dead, lying in a pool of blood with her throat slit at her home in Hill View Estate, Kitengela, on Thursday, May 9th at around 1PM.
Jackson Bamboo, 45, has been identified as a person of interest in the case following Sheila’s murder at her residence in Athi River. Police are urging him to surrender himself for questioning.
An officer familiar with the investigation stated, “Let him surrender for questioning. Maybe he is not the one who killed her. He is a person of interest in this case.”
Jack Bamboo’s Last Signal Traced
The urgency to locate Bamboo intensified after authorities recovered a vehicle at Kencom, believed to have been used by Bamboo following the murder.
Jack reportedly left his house early Thursday morning without speaking to anyone at home. He got into the car and drove away,
According to a police report, a car park attendant revealed that the suspect left his vehicle at the location around 2:30 am.
He handed over Sh450 to the attendant for parking fees in case he did not return. And left the car keys before departing with three bags.
The vehicle was later traced using a tracking device and taken to Athi River Police Station.
And his last known signal traced to Narok. Authorities suspect he may have changed vehicles to evade capture.
“We are tracking him. His last phone signal was in Narok at 6:26 am before it was switched off. He is the prime suspect. He may run but he will never hide,” stated Wesley Langat, DCIO Boss in Athi River.
The vehicle was towed to Athi River Police Station to aid in investigations.
Sheila Wegesha Autopsy Results
A postmortem examination conducted by pathologist Dr. Michieka Michieka at Shalom Community Hospital mortuary revealed that Sheila succumbed to exsanguination, indicating a significant loss of blood.
Further investigation has uncovered marital discord between the couple, suggesting a possible motive for the crime.
Sheila, 38, was discovered by her 18-year-old daughter in their Hill View estate home, lying lifeless in a pool of blood with her throat slit.
Sheila’s daughter found her lifeless body around 1 pm, suggesting she had been dead for hours. The daughter had prepared lunch for her mother earlier and stumbled upon her lifeless form when trying to wake her.
In addition to their personal struggles, the couple jointly operated a popular bar in Nairobi’s Umoja area, further deepening the mystery surrounding Sheila’s untimely demise.
As authorities intensify their efforts to apprehend Bambo and unravel the circumstances surrounding Sheila’s death, the community remains vigilant for answers and closure.
