POLICE INVESTIGATE ACTOR CHARLES OUDA’S DEATH

DCI investigators have visited the scene where renown Kenyan actor Charles Ouda alias Charlie died. The actor passed away on Saturday February 3, during a work-related party in Westlands area. The 38-year-old actor was engaged to former BBC journalist Ciru Muriuki.

The death of Charles ‘Charlie’ Ouda shocked the entire Kenyan entertainment industry and fans alike. Charlie was a talented actor who featured in popular TV shows such as Makutano Junction, and Salem. A statement issued on behalf of Charlie’s family and his fiancée Ciru urged for privacy as they mourned the veteran actor’s passing.

It is with deep sorrow that the family of Charles ‘Charlie’ J. Ouda and Ciru Muriuki inform you of his passing on the night of 3rd February 2024. He was a beloved son, brother and friend. Charlie was 38 years old. We appeal to all to give his fiancée Ciru, and the Oudas space to grieve this unfathomable loss. More details will be given in due course. Fellow Actors Mourn

Actress Foi Wambui who starred on Salem alongside Charles Oudalamented not knowing Saturday was their last day together, expressing regret and a cascade of maybes.

 “I have struggled doing this. It feels so unreal. If only we knew Saturday was the last day we’d see you, talk to you, and sing, and dance with you. If only we knew these last words were actually your last words to us, maybe just maybe…. Argh! So many maybes!”

Salem actress Jackie Matubia also voiced her unwillingness to bid Charles Ouda goodbye.

“Am not ready to say goodbye. Charliiieeeee!!!! Make it make sense!!” Jackie Matubia.

Actor Brian Kabugi mourned a mentor and gifted artist as he extended condolences to the family.

” ‘Father’ , brother and a mentor. A gifted artist, a free spirit with a free mind. Your light will always shine among us. our impact will always be felt. My sincere condolences to the family. Shine on your way master.”

Bryan Kabugi wrote.

Crime and Justice actress Sarah Hassan also mourned the death of Charles Ouda, describing him as a lovely and passionate actor.

To have known Charlie is to have known the epitome of passion. Extremely gutted. My deepest condolences to entire Ouda family and Ciru. Rest in power Charlie.”
