Police have arrested several suspects in connection with the disappearance and tragic death of 19-year-old City Hall intern Elvis Munene.
His body was discovered at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) mortuary 23 days after he went missing.
Munene, a KCA University student of IT, disappeared on January 29, prompting a desperate search by his family. His case gained public attention as abduction and disappearance cases surged across the country.

City Hall Intern’s Final Day
Reports indicate that Munene was last seen leaving City Hall Annex after receiving a call from his friend, Keith Chacha. The two had planned to go to downtown Nairobi to buy phone covers.
However, their outing took a tragic turn when police allegedly confronted them. Chacha was handcuffed, while Munene fled but was later cornered by a mob at the junction of Kirinyaga Road and Charles Rubia Road.
A witness, Edward Mwangi, claimed that Munene was accused of phone-snatching and was beaten severely before the police intervened. He was taken to KNH, where he was admitted to the ICU but later succumbed to his injuries.
His body was transferred to the mortuary, but his family remained unaware of his fate until February 20.
Police are now investigating what led to Munene’s injuries, the events of his final moments, and those responsible for his death.
