NDIANGUI KINYAGIA: MAN BEHIND JUNE 25 PROTESTS TIMETABLE ABDUCTED

Ndiangui Kinyagia, another vocal activist tied to the upcoming Gen Z protests has gone missing under alarming circumstances.

The 31-year-old IT expert and outspoken blogger on X, is believed to have been one of the key coordinators behind the June 25 protest timetable.

The timetable starts with prayers and ends with “Hanging of Ruto.”

When did Ndiangui Kinyagia Disappear?

He has not been seen or heard from since Saturday morning, when he last spoke to his mother. Shortly after that call, his phone went off, and attempts to reach him since have failed.

On Sunday afternoon around 2:00 PM, men believed to be DCI officers arrived at his home in Kinoo, Nairobi. They came in about 10 vehicles and spent nearly nine hours at the property. After negotiating with the caretaker for hours, they eventually broke into the house at around 9:00 PM, without presenting a court order.

Neighbours watched as the men carried away several items, including two laptops, two phones, an old and a new passport, and a yellow fever card. After the raid, they locked the house with their own padlock and gave the caretaker an inventory of the seized items. Kinyagia himself was not home at the time.

This morning, his family reported his disappearance at Kinoo Police Station and were issued an OB number. However, officers at the station said they were unaware of any such operation, raising further questions about the legality and transparency of the raid.

Later in the day, the family met with Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Faith Odhiambo and other officials at the LSK offices. They agreed to move to the High Court to compel police to produce Kinyagia.

Kinyagia’s disappearance comes just days before the highly anticipated Gen Z memorial protest, which marks one year since deadly demonstrations against the finance bill. His role in organizing and sharing the protest schedule online has led many to believe his abduction is politically motivated.

As fear spreads and tension builds, Kenyans are once again faced with the grim reality of silencing dissent through force and intimidation. One of the loudest digital voices pushing for civic action has vanished, and no one in authority seems to know, or wants to say, where he is.
