Maurine Kabu, the CEO of Adequate Safaris, has broken her silence following claims that she is romantically involved with her father, Simon Kabu, the co-founder of Bonfire Adventures.
The allegations were made in court by Simon’s ex-wife, Sarah Mtalii, during their divorce proceedings.
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. And Sarah Njoki, estranged wife of Bonfire Adventures co-founder Simon Kabu, made explosive allegations not only against her former husband but also against his daughter, Maurine Kabu.
In court filings, Sarah claimed Simon only began referring to Maurine as his daughter after their 15-year marriage ended. And that there is no DNA proof confirming Simon and Maurine are related.
Sarah also suggested their connection appears more romantic than paternal.
And that Maurine Kabu, who introduced her other father, moved into the former matrimonial home and now has access to properties that were once jointly owned by her and Simon.
Simon Kabu has strongly denied the allegations. However, until recently, Maurine had not addressed the matter publicly.
Maurine Kabu Responds
In a recent social media post, Maurine Kabu referred to Simon as her father and praised him as the person who shaped her into who she is today. She shared photos and videos of them spending time together, riding horses at the beach, working side by side, and enjoying what looked like a family vacation.
She wrote:
“My dad has been my biggest mentor, the one who shaped who I am. What’s that one unforgettable thing your dad did for you?”
Although she did not directly address the allegations, her post appears to affirm a father-daughter bond, rather than on the scandal.
Maurine’s calm and composed response has come at a time when the family is under intense public scrutiny. Her approach is focusing on the positive influence her father has had on her life rather than engaging in the controversy.
