Kenyan singer KRG The Don has revealed his plans to run for a political seat in the upcoming 2027 general election, aspiring to serve as a Member of Parliament.

In an interview with Betty Kyallo on TV47’s “This Friday with Betty,” KRG outlined his ambitions.

“I want to start with MP,” he said.

However, he chose to keep the specific constituency a secret for now.

“I do not want to disclose it yet. If people know Bughaa wants to be an MP, they will start overwhelming me with calls and requests,” he explained.

KRG, who was previously married to Lin Kiruthi, highlighted the strategic thinking behind his decision. “I always tell people there’s no rich man who is stupid. They always know what they are doing. It is a puzzle; you have to plan from this year to next year and beyond,” he said.

Source of Wealth Explained

KRG The Donexplained that he inherited most of his wealthh, contradicting popular belief that he worked hard for it.

“A lot of money is actually an inheritance; many of these assets existed before I was born. I inherited them by luck, not by my own wishes. This isn’t really my wealth; people lived on this earth and left it for me,” he stated.

However, most of his assets are not under his name.

He explained, “I have not transferred anything into my name; I only manage them. I do not want our elders to say Bughaa squandered the wealth. What I do is maybe just pay a little tax.”

KRG also revealed that he has not visited these properties in years because he doesn’t see the need.

The entrepreneur, who owns the club ‘Casavera’ announced its temporary closure for renovations due to competition from new bars like Quiver.

“The business went down, so we decided to close it, renovate, and come back with new strategies,” he explained.

KRG is confident about his political aspirations and is actively preparing for his campaign.

He recently joined the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), and was welcomed by the party’s Secretary General, Cleophas Malala, on April 12, 2023.
