Paula Jepkemboi, the daughter of the late June Chebet Moi, honored her mother with a touching poem during her burial ceremony, held on Thursday, April 18, at her native home in Bahati, Nakuru county.

June, the last-born daughter of former President Daniel Moi, passed away on April 11 after battling an undisclosed illness at the age of 60.

The funeral service, attended by prominent personalities including Kalonzo Musyoka, Eugene Wamalwa, and David Maraga, saw June’s remains airlifted from Nairobi to the Kabarak Airstrip, accompanied by her grieving family.

In a heartwarming tribute, Paula reminisced about her cherished memories with her mother, expressing love and longing.

She recited a beautiful poem, saying “If roses grow in heaven, Lord, please pick a bunch for me. Place them in my mother’s arms and tell her they’re from me. Tell her I love her and miss her, and when she turns to smile, place a kiss upon her cheek and hold her for a while.”
