City preacher Robert Burale was molested by the househelp growing up. The abuse happened while he was still in lower Primary School.
Burale, who hails from the heart of Karen in Nairobi, shared his experience on the YouTube channel ‘Shared Moments With Justus,’ \
He said, “I was molested by our house help.”
The heavy matter took a toll on the young Burale, who stated that. “So at a very young age, while in lower Primary school, I was dealing with things men in their 50’s should not be dealing with.”
Burale, felt he could not speak up on the abuse as he was deathly afraid of the house-help.
“Being young, I did not have anybody to tell. And I felt threatened by the house help, I would go to the dining room and would see her looking at me as if daring me to say something.” He said.
“As a kid anyone older than you is a hero (and seem) to have the power to kill you.”

Robert Burale Speaks on Abuse and Healing
The life and marriage coach says he only healed from the effects of abuse as an adult.
“I only dealt with that issue when I was over 35. Healing comes through the anger.”
Burale’s life post the abuse has been far from smooth-sailing.
The preacher, who once claimed to be celibate for close to a decade, also shared that the death of his dad caught him by surprise.
He was in denial and ended up engaging in uncouth behaviors.
He admitted that having been “through my mistakes- depression, addiction, and three suicide attempts, I have tested death.”
And that he lives life by showing his scars
He insists his experiences were “a plan by the devil to make sure I did not succeed”
Robert Burale says that while people prefer to showcase their successes, “your scars mean nothing to anybody if you do not let them into yours.”
