Mary Biteti, the woman at the center of the viral photos with former Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya, has spoken out, denying any involvement in their leak.
“I did not leak them,” Biteti stated unequivocally in an interview with Tuko. She expressed her disappointment at the attacks she’s faced from those accusing her of exposing the former governor.
“It feels really bad, but there’s not much I can do. On the flip side, I’ve received positive comments and I’m grateful to God and those supporting me,” she shared.
As a private individual, Biteti emphasized that leaking the photos was not in her character, and she expressed reluctance to expose Oparanya in such a manner. “But now that they’re out there, there’s not much I can say,” she added.
Biteti revealed plans to take legal action against the responsible party for the photo leak, citing the negative impact on both their families.

Mary Biteti clarified the nature of her relationship with the former Kakamega Governor, stating, “I call him daddy because I’m fond of him that way.” This clarification aimed to dispel any rumors suggesting that Oparanya was her father, as some netizens had earlier alleged.
She added, “I don’t need to explain much. I know the kind of relationship I’m in. Those who want to talk will talk.”
Despite the mixed publicity regarding their romantic involvement, Biteti remains resolute. “I’m not afraid. He (Oparanya) is a polygamous man, and I respect his other wives,” she affirmed.
Oparanya, 68 is also married to Priscilla and Caroline Oparanya.
Addressing the issue, Oparanya, in a video on Biteti’s Facebook page, defended himself, emphasizing his duty to protect his family. “I have a big family to protect so those sending out fake news should stop.” he urged.
Oparanya, who was in Mombasa accompanied by Mary Biteti to meet members of his community, reiterated his willingness to address any concerns directly. “I’m here, I can speak, I have no problem,” he asserted.
