Gospel singer and TikTok star Gogo Gloriose, has died in Kampala, Uganda, at the age of 36.
She left Rwanda on August 28 with her team to attend a revival crusade in Mbarara, which took place from August 29 to 31. After the event, she travelled to Kampala for advertising work and to meet her friend and fellow musician, Bruno K.
It was in Kampala that her health took a sudden turn. On the morning of September 4, she fell ill and was rushed to Kyengera Doctors Hospital, where she died shortly after arrival.
Early reports suggested heart complications, but her manager, Bikem wa Yesu, later explained that Gogo had long struggled with seizure attacks linked to epilepsy. He revealed she had suffered two seizures the day before her death, and while her team had grown used to her recovering after such episodes, this time the outcome was different and tragic.

Gogo Gloriose Final Words
Bruno K announced her death with heartbreaking posts online and later shared their last video together. In the clip, filmed just two days before she died, Gogo appeared cheerful, wearing a floral coat and glasses. When asked for her last words, she playfully said “Gudubai” (goodbye), a moment that has now taken on a painful significance for her fans.
Beyond her ministry, Gogo was a viral sensation on TikTok. Her music, including her hit song “Everyday, I Need Blood of Jesus”, spread widely online and in churches. She became known for her unpolished but authentic style, with phrases like “Gudubai”, “I going”, and even her attempt at saying “happy birthday” turning into viral sounds that brought joy and laughter across Africa.
Born in 1989 in Rwamagana, Eastern Province, Rwanda, Gogo faced hardships early in life, including the loss of both parents. Still, she held firmly to her Christian faith and became active in the Anglican Church. Her songs carried messages of encouragement and resilience, inspiring thousands of young people who found her both relatable and uplifting.
Her sudden death has left fans across East Africa in mourning. To many, she was not only a gospel singer but also a lighthearted and genuine personality whose faith and laughter touched lives far beyond her home country.
